Musica en vivo en Málaga, Tiro de Gracia?
Recientemente la inspeccion de trabajo de málaga esta realizando inspecciones en locales de musica en vivo por nuestra ciudad y multando a los musicos y/o a los dueños de dichos locales. estas acciones pueden suponer la desaparicion de muchas de las bandas emergentes que intentan labrarse un camino en el ya por si dificil mundo de la musica en nuestra ciudad y nuestro pais.
Dichos inspectores se estan centrando en un sector ya muy castigado (al igual que tantos otros) por la brutal crisis que asola España. En Ubuntu Reggae no somos dados a mezclarnos en témas politicos, pero nos preguntamos que puede mover a la seguridad social a fiscalizar estas actividades culturales en nuestra provincia dado los exiguos “beneficios” que dichas bandas obtenemos de nuestros conciertos. ¿De verdad se piensan que van a arreglar el angustioso tema del paro? ¿realmente creen que los ridiculos emolumentos que recibimos por tocar van a suponer algun tipo de mejora para la economia de este pais?. Realmente entendemos el problema que supone el fraude fiscal en España, pero ¿no saldria mas rentable para la economia en el momento actual perseguir a los verdaderos defraudadores? veanse grandes empresas que tributan al 5%, radicadas en paraisos fiscales o inmersas en el fraude “legal” de las Sicavs, por no hablar de los Urdangarines, Ratos, Barcenas, la financiacion ilegal de los partidos politicos, las cuentas en Suiza, etc etc…
Es realmente indignante tener que ser testigo de dichas actividades dia si, dia tambien y comprobar que nadie hace nada al respecto, mientra que (en nuestro caso), nosotros los musicos al parecer somos la solución para aumentar la recaudacion de las arcas del estado.
Como ya mencionamos lo que recaudamos con el fruto de nuestro esfuerzo tocando por los pocos locales que aun programan actuaciones en vivo en Málaga y que aun apuestan por la música de la provincia son tan exiguos que apenas alcanzan a cubrir los gastos que supone mantener una banda en este caso una banda de Reggae, vease alquiler de local, desplazamientos, alquiler de equipos etc, etc… si a eso ademas ahora tenemos que hacer frente al pago de un alta de autonomo ¿como? nos preguntamos ¿se supone que vamos a subsistir? la pregunta obviamente es retorica, dado que sera imposible para esta y para otras muchas bandas asumir las dispensas que este nuestro “querido” y “amado” gobierno nos pretende imponer.
No nos oponemos a regularizar nuestra situacion, tal vez al contrario dicha regularización pudiese proporcionarnos la oportunidad de cobrar un sueldo un poco mas digno, la solución quizas fuese dotar a los musicos emergentes de un regimen especial acorde a la recaudacion de nuestras actuaciones, obviamente no deberia ser lo mismo tributar como un grupo o solista de talla internacional o como una pequeña banda emergente, esa forma de actuar solo conllevara la desaparicion como ya apuntamos de los artistas de menor difusion dado que ¿cuantos de nosotros podremos hacer frente a un alta de autonomo que supone un gasto mensual de 256€ ? ó ¿que sala o pequeño bar se veran animados a programar conciertos si aparte del precio de la actuacion se ve obligada a pagar 20€ por musico?, obviamente volvemos a la retorica, la respuesta es simple, pocas o ninguna.
Para intentar frenar esta (a nuestro ver) injusta situacion se ha creado una peticion en change.org y estariamos inmensamente agradecidos si pudieseis firmarla, para asi intentar mostar la disconfomidad con el proceder de la inspecion de trabajo de Málaga el enlace es el que sigue:
Como ya mencionamos no nos gusta mezclarnos con la politica y pedimos perdon por usar este nuestro pequeño rincón para ello, pero creemos que merece la pena salvaguardar el, arte y la cultura en una zona como la de Málaga, cuna de tantos y tantos artistas.

Recently the inspection of work from Málaga being performed inspections at local live music places for our city and fining the musicians and / or owners of such premises . these actions can result in the disappearance of many emerging bands trying to carve a path in the difficult world of the music in our city and our country.
These inspectors are focusing on a sector already punished (like many others) by the brutal crisis plaguing Spain. In Ubuntu Reggae we don´t like to mingle in political issues, but we all ask what can move to social security to monitor these cultural activities in our province given the “meager benefits” that these bands get from their concerts. Do you really think they are going to fix the distressing issue of unemployment? Do you really believe the ridiculous emoluments that we receive for playing will involve some kind of improvement for the economy of this country ?. We Really understand the problem of tax evasion in Spain, but would come out no more profitable for the economy at the present time chasing real fraudsters? As by instance the large companies that are taxed at 5%, based in tax havens or immersed in the “legal” fraud of the Open-ended investment, not to mention the Urdangarines, Ratos, Barcenas, illegal financing of political parties, illegal accounts in Switzerland, etc. etc …
It’s really outrageous to have to witness such activities day by day and realize that no one does anything about it, while that (in our case), we musicians are apparently the solution to increase the collection of state coffers .
As we mentioned above what we raised with the fruit of our efforts by performing at the few places that still scheduled live performances in Malaga and even bet on the music of the province are so meager that barely cover the costs of maintaining a band in this case a Reggae band, see: gas, travels, equipment hire etc, etc … if that also now have to deal with the payment of a self-contained high how? we ask ourselves how are we supposed to survive? the question is obviously rhetorical, it will be impossible for this and many other bands take the dispensations that this our “dear” and “beloved” government seem to impose .
We are not opposed to regularize our situation, perhaps unlike such adjustment could provide the opportunity to charge a little more decent wage, maybe the solution was give to emerging musicians a special regime according to the collection of our performances, obviously we havenot should be taxed the same as a group or soloist of international stature or as a small pop band, such behavior only lead to the disappearance as already noted artists of lesser diffusion because how many of us can cope with a high of autonomous representing a € 256 monthly expense? or what concert room or small bar will look to encouraged to schedule concerts besides the price of the performance is obliged to pay 20 € for each musician? obviously we return to the rhetoric, the answer is simple, few or none.
To try to stop this (in our opinion) unfair situation a petition has been created on change.org and we would be immensely grateful if you could sign it, so try to show the unjust proceed with work Málaga inspecion the link is as follows :
As mentioned we do not like to mix with “politiricks” and ask forgiveness for using this our little corner for this, but we think it is worth to safeguarding, art and culture in an area like Málaga, birthplace of so many artists.

Menuda tarde/noche de Reggae que pasamos el pasado sabado en la Paris 15, nos despachamos a gusto, ademas tuvimos la suerte de compartir escenario con 2 de las mejores bandas del panorama “reggero” malagueño Echo & Reverb All Stars y Malaka Youth, ademas por supuesto de la presencia de Pressure Buss Pipe & I grade Dub, las chicas de Malaga Dancehall Movement y los potentes Sound systems King Wadada Sound y Deeper Sound. Da gusto comprobar que el reggae en Malaga no hace mas que crecer y crecer…

What a evening of Reggaemusic we lived last Saturday at Paris 15, despatched us to taste, plus we were lucky to share the stage with 2 of the best bands in the Malaga Reggae scene: Echo & Reverb All Stars and Malaka Youth, also of course of the presence of Pressure Buss Pipe & I grade Dub, the girls of Malaga Dancehall Movement and 2 powerful Sound systems: King Wadada Sound and Deeper Sound. It’s nice to see that reggae in Malaga does nothing but grow and grow …

El sabado estuvimos compartiendo escenario con los copiones en la sala Jet Set en Torremolinos (Málaga), menudo contraste la potencia y decibelios del rock junto a los ritmos caribeños del Reggae, que buen rato pasamos.
On Saturday we were sharing the stage at the Jet Set concert room with Los Copiones in Torremolinos (Málaga), what a nice contrast, the power and decibels of rock from Los Copiones and the Caribbean rhythms of Ubuntu Reggae, Such a great night!!!

We are Ubuntu Reggae a band of recent formation, but it does not mean that we´re new in the Reggae bussiness, our name comes from the Xhosa culture and it means “I am because we are” and with that we could sum up the philosophy of the group, no one is more important that anyone and in fact anyone in Ubuntu Reggae are indispensable to achieve the sound that we want to obtain for our band, it was founded in mid-2012 and we´ve took very few concerts (for now), but our mood is to play as much as possible in the future that seems to us at least promising, given the illusion that we have put into this project.
The band consists of seven musicians with extensive experience in the history of the Malaga Reggae scene, we’ve all played in other bands and “Soundsystems” and we even have engaged in other side projects with one common denominator, the Reggae music.

Our influences is obviously marked by Reggae in all its aspects, but we could summarize our style as ” New Roots” with touches of dancehall and even Soca .
In the future we would like to share the stage with important names of Reggae and any type of music in general, but as mentioned above we all have experience in this business and have performed at major national events such as the already missing macrofestivals as U Zona-reggae and Reggae on the River where we were lucky to share the stage with world-class artists as Alpha Blondy, Pato banton, I Roy, Culture … to name a few.
Ubuntu Reggae
somos Ubuntu Reggae una banda de formacion reciente, pero no por ello somos nuevos en esto del Reggae nuestro nombre proviene de la cultura Xhosa significa: “Yo soy porque nosotros somos.” y con eso podriamos resumir la filosofia del grupo: nadie es mas importante que nadie y a su vez todos somos indispensables para lograr el sonido que pretendemos obtener para nuestra banda, esta fue fundada a mediados del 2012 y llevamos muy pocos conciertos (por ahora), pero nuestro animo es el de tocar lo maximo posible en un futuro que se nos antoja como minimo prometedor, dada la ilusion que tenemos puesta en este proyecto.
La banda esta formada por 7 musicos con amplia trayectoria en la historia de el Reggae malagueño, todos hemos tocado en otras bandas y “Soundsystems” e incluso nos hayamos inmersos en otros proyectos paralelos con un mismo denominador comun, el Reggae.

Nuestras influencias obviamente viene marcadas por el Reggae en todas sus vertientes, pero podriamos resumir nuestro estilo como “New Roots” con pinceladas de Dancehall e incluso Soca.
En el futuro nos gustaria poder compartir escenario, con nombres relevantes del Reggae y de la musica en general, aunque como ya mencionamos anteriormente todos tenemos experiencia en este mundillo y hemos actuado en importantes eventos a nivel nacional como por ejemplo los ya desaparecidos macro festivales U-Zona reggae y Reggae on the River donde tuvimos la suerte de compartir escenario con figuras de talla mundial como: Alpha Blondy, Pato banton, I Roy, Culture… por citar tan solo algunos.
